PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide structurally derived as an analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). With the sequence Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH, PT-141 is structurally related to Melanotan 2 with modifications to the C-terminal amino acid. As a synthetic research peptide, PT-141 has been studied in cellular research literature examining melanocortin receptor pharmacology and peptide chemistry.
